We realize that our historical homes vacation rental concept is fairly unique as well as several or our services like our historical activities or the usage of our private island and that you will most likely have several questions before making a reservation. How do I make a reservation
As indicated on our website, you need to contact Nicole, the owner, directly via email, text or telephone. The contact information is available at several locations on the web site or by following this link. She will be able to answer your questions, provide you with a price and make the reservation if you decide to reserve.
Can you explain your pricing structure
The pricing indicated on each homes web page section is based on renting the entire home and is also available renting on a per room usage basis. The price indicated in the web site is the pricing per day and will vary on the length of your stay and the numbers of rooms used in your house or suite.
The most expensive price per room will be for a one-night stay using only one room in the home as we still need to clean the entire home. If your stay is longer and/or your group is larger and you are using more rooms in the house, your cost per room will decrease. For very large groups such as a family reunion or a sports team, you can contact Nicole for a quote.
Is there a reservation deposit
For group reservations or when the home is fully rented, a 30% non-refundable deposit is charged to your credit card 6 months before your stay.
There are no reservation deposit required for individuals renting a separate suite. This is however only possible 2 months ahead of the required dates.
What happens if I need to cancel
You need to contact Nicole as soon as possible so that she can free-up your home/suite for another reservation.
There are no cancellation fees for individuals as we believe that the guest will only cancel due to a good reason out of his or her control. We believe that a satisfied quest will come back at a later time and this includes one that had to cancel his stay.
For group reservations, if the cancellation is made at least 6 months before the proposed stay, no cancellation fees will apply. If the cancellation is made less than 6 months before the proposed stay, the 30% non-refundable deposit which was retained will represent the applicable cancellation fee.
Which form of payment to you accept
We accept payment with e-transfer, Visa and MasterCard credit cards.
Will I receive confirmation of my booking
Following your reservation you will receive an e-mail from Nicole confirming your reservation with the associated details. The email will be sent out within the next 24h following your reservation.
How do I get the keys
All of our houses and suites are equipped with electronic keypad locks so there are no keys to pick up. Nicole will provide you with your own personalized entry code prior to your arrival.
Is the availability calendar on the web site up to date
The on-line calendar is updated on a daily basis and should be fairly accurate at all times. It might not reflect the current discussions with a client that is in the process of finalizing a booking. You can access the calendar here.
What are the Check in and Check out times
Arrival time is at or after 3:00PM on your date of arrival and check out time is 11:00AM or earlier on your departure date. This gives us the time required to be ready for the next visitors. We can sometimes make an exception and permit an early check in or a late check out, depending on guest turnover. Please notify Nicole if you need to modify the arrival/departure times and she should be able to confirm if this is possible.
Can I book last minute
It is possible to book last minute although most of our reservations are not last-minute reservations. Most of our guests reserve weeks and months before especially in the summertime and long weekends. Please contact Nicole and we might have a home or suite that could be available for you.
What do I need to bring
All you need to bring are your clothes, personal toiletries and any food that would be required outside of what we have included in our continental breakfast and other condiments. We invite you to take a look at all the amenities available on our web site.
You will also be able to cook all your meals for yourself or your group in the fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a full-size fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave. You will find dishes, utensils, pots & pans and other kitchen accessories.
Do you accept pets
We accept pets in a few of our houses only. Please contact Nicole to discuss your situation and agree on the applicable additional cost. Costs may vary depending on the type of your pet.
Are your homes accessible
We have two homes which are accessible although they do not necessarily meet today’s accessibility codes they are still being used by guests with reduced mobility
The Ferland Suite:
- The back entrance is located at ground level and fully accessible with a wheelchair. Assistance would probably be required to reach the back entrance as the pathway from the parking lot is a bit steeper.
- The front porch with an incredible view of lake Temiskaming is also accessible.
- Wide hallways, large open areas along with several available accessibility accessories are all contributing to making everyone at ease to truly enjoy your stay.
- The large main bedroom can assist any types of equipment.
- The bathroom is equipped with assist bars and we also have available a tub safety bar, a tub transfer bench and an elevated toilet seat. The bathroom does not meet the standards in terms of the size and you would not be able to fit a wheelchair.
The Lumber Baron’s House
- The back entrance is located at ground level and is easily accessible. There is however a step that might require some assistance/lifting if in a wheelchair. Once in the home, the entire main floor is accessible.
- The front porch with an incredible view of lake Temiskaming is also accessible.
- The entire main floor is accessible. Wide hallways, large open areas along with several available accessibility accessories are all contributing to making everyone at ease to truly enjoy your stay.
- For the bathroom we have available a tub safety bar, a tub transfer bench and an elevated toilet seat.
Is there television, the internet, telephone
Every home has high speed fibre optic wireless internet and television with cable with a large variety of channels. The homes do not have telephones as most of our clients now have cellulars.
Is parking available
Private parking at every of our homes. Our larger homes have larger parking areas to accommodate all of the guests. It is possible to park trailers, boats and RVs at a few of our homes. Please contact Nicole to discuss your situation.
What are the nearby attractions
The Presidents’ Suites homes are all located in Haileybury walking distance from the beach, marina, golf course and other attractions. We invite you to take a loop at our ‘Things to Do’ web site section to have a complete listing of our top picks as well as our own Presidents’ Suites activities.
What are the closest stores/services (groceries, liquor store, hospital, post office…)
The Presidents’ Suites homes are all located walking distance from downtown Haileybury. We invite you to visit our ‘Local Services, Food, Gifts’ section of our web site which provides you with a complete listing of stores and services in the area.
Do I need to bring my bicycle
We have a long list of amenities which include bicycles, kayaks, canoes, outdoor games, indoor games, and a lot more for our guests to use free of charge. Most of our bikes have been recycled from garage sales and are good for a family outing but if you are planning for a longer bike expedition or training you should be bringing your own bike.
Are the home air conditioned
Our homes are air-conditioned. Some homes have central AC while other have more localized systems.
Customer Satisfaction
We are hoping that everyone of our client is always fully satisfied but it might happen that either your stay was not perfect or a product that we have shipped to you does not meet your expectations.
If you stay has not been perfect, we will sit down with you to see what can be done to ensure that you leave as a happy client. If you feel that a compensation has to be provided for something that went wrong, we will work with you to find an adequate compensation which may include a rebate on your next stay or even a discount on your current stay. It is important to keep in mind that some situations may be out totally of our control.
If you have purchased a product from us we have a delivery & return and refund policy. Purchased product will be shipped promptly (less than 5 days) following the completion of the on-line order via regular Canada Post package shipping. Customer satisfaction is our priority and we understand that there are occasions you may want to return purchased items. Items must be returned within 14 days of receipt to quality for a refund. You will be issued with a credit note for the item returned. Please ensure all items are wrapped securely and we recommend that you use insured registered delivery. We cannot accept liability for goods lost or damaged in transit. We cannot be responsible for interest charges made by your credit card company whilst waiting for returns to be refunded to your card.
