Meet Our Collaborators
Jocelyn, co-owner of the Presidents’ Suites, is from the northern Ontario community of Hearst. Over the years, the evolution in his career carried him from engineering and manufacturing sectors towards economic development and health.
On his first visit of the area he fell in love with the beauty of the Temiskaming region. Since 2004, his career and interests have shifted towards sustainable development, climate change, community resilience and also in being more connected with nature.
His favourite pastime is spending time on Farr Island listening to the waves, the birds and enjoying the beautiful sunrise over Lake Temiskaming.

The conversations are so valuable! Collaborating! That is the whole point: meeting new friends and sampling simple ways of preparing food. I love taking pictures of all of our living foodie creations so we can post and share the recipes”.

Shardul Kara is a Registered Massage Therapist. He has been a Resident of Temiskaming Shores for 2 years now and embraced this region as his adopted home. His main mission is to serve people with his therapeutic touch, through continuing education to treat, prevent soft tissue injuries and promote wellness in the community.
He completed his Physiotherapy University education in India and straight away moved to Canada in 2011 for better opportunities all by himself. Here he finished his 1-year Physiotherapy Residency and should soon be an Independent Physiotherapy Practitioner.
Shardul was lucky to be introduced to John Barnes Myofascial Release approach early in his career and he has been seeing some amazing results. This whole body approach involves eradicating the root cause of pain through in depth postural evaluation and working hands on engaging connective tissue rather than having a symptomatic approach and treating the area of pain. Some of the treatments he offers are: Deep Tissue Massage, General Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy.
He is an avid yoga lover, tennis enthusiast, hiker and he loves travelling and being outdoors. He has the zeal to learn everything he can.

Dave’s passion is being outside! That’s why he feels so fortunate to live in Haileybury. Truly, what’s not to like? From the Temagami canoe routes to the Temiskaming Nordic ski trails, this region is a natural paradise. In the past, Dave worked as a leader with Outward Bound and as an environmental educator. These days, Dave is more likely to be seen walking his dogs than leading students, but he is always willing to share with those who love the great outdoors.
